The East Norfolk Militia is a Napoleonic re-enactment group that travels around the county attending a wide variety of events. On Saturday 30th April 2023, a training day was held at their new ‘garrison’ at County School Railway Station.

Eight members of the Militia attended and took part in refresher training on drills. The platform made a perfect parade ground and they went though a variety of different manoeuvres. To close the training session a barbeque was held.
Our Project officer Paul Young, interviewed the founder of the East Norfolk Militia, Peter Heath.

County School station is part of the Mid-Norfolk Railway, and serves as a hub for several local groups and associations. It is a popular location and there are a number of walking groups who regularly call in. Also due to its atmospheric location it attracts art groups.
