At the recent Heritage Open Days we were able to meet many people who expressed interest in the Norfolk Orbital Railway project. Volunteers of the Melton Constable Trust, were fortunate to be able to have stands at Dereham and County School on the Mid Norfolk Railway to talk about the project and present plans on how it can work.
At the stations, there were also a number of other organizations who had stands. The Norfolk Record Office who collect and preserve unique archives relating to the history of Norfolk and make them accessible across the world, attended both events.
They had an excellent display, which featured local Norfolk railway dating back to the early 1900’s.
Our project officer Paul Young spoke with Victoria Draper, the Education and Outreach Officer at Norfolk Record Office.
